Green Screen Studio

What other Vancouver film school gives students the opportunity to work right on the set of a commercial production studio? Learn film lighting, film location sound, digital film camera operation, directing, all ‘hands-on’. PAVI Film & Digital Arts program mixes classroom instruction with indoor and outdoor location shoots.

Set Design

Set design and construction are an integral part of any film production, whether series, feature or commercial. At PAVI students not only examine the importance of set dressing, props, painting and overall art concept, they learn how to scale their set ideas to the available budget.

Lights, Camera, Action!

PAVI students enjoy a light moment on the set, watching the action. Knowing how to be a part of a team is a valuable skill learned through experience.

Each Film & Digital Arts student takes turns fulfilling all the different jobs that a film shoot requires so that when they enter the work force they are more familiar with the “big picture”.

Cyc Wall

A cyclorama (cyc) wall is commonly used as seamless transitional curves between the floor and wall. It gives the appearance of an endless background and is used in ads and music videos.

The film industry uses the term "cyc" simply because it’s faster to say than cyclorama.

Film Careers

From the make-up and wardrobe personnel, to technical crew, a film set is more than anything else, a team working towards a common goal.

Etiquette, organization and safety on the film set are equally as important as creative input. PAVI film instructors are professionals who stress the real-life aspects of filmmaking.
